I grew up in Cedar Rapids and was excited at the idea of moving back from Des Moines to open a Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping location. In June 2007 the Boyson Road location opened and we have since grown to a total of 5 locations in Eastern Iowa. Farrell’s is a program that has helped thousands of people and I’m proud to be a part of it. Our managers, coaches and instructors really set us apart. I can’t imagine a more rewarding way to spend my day!

Prior to Farrell's I was in Human Resources management and recruiting. Now I focus on all things Farrell’s; instructing, working with our team and day to day operations.

When I'm not at Farrell's you can find me cheering on our sons' at their many activities or maybe even running a race with them! We have four boys, ages 13, 11, 9 and 6.

The reason I started Farrell's: To lose weight and become stronger.
My favorite part of being an instructor: I love helping others reach their fitness goals. I push myself to my Level 10 during the whole class.

The reason I started Farrell's: I had gained 20 extra pounds post ankle surgery, and I struggled to regain my strength and fitness by riding a bike and lifting in the gym. It just wasn't working. I needed something different, and more motivating, that would give me the tools to change my lifestyle...and it worked! I've never felt stronger doing the things I love...like mountain biking ;-)
My favorite part of being an instructor: Seeing first-hand, each 10 week participate morphing into a stronger, healthier human being.Watching them become more confident. Witnessing strength and determination day in and day out. It keeps me motivated! I love being a part of that.

I have always been fairly active in my adult life; I belonged and worked at a fitness club for about 12 years. I actually met my husband there! My idea had always been “I work out to eat”, I LOVE to eat!!! However, I never really gained a ton of weight, I just never lost either. Don’t get me wrong, I wanted to get in shape, get tone, and lose some weight but I never could get over the “eating” thing. I tried all kinds of diet pills or different kinds of diets. NONE of them worked. Last fall we had our first child and I promised my husband that I would let him lead my workouts for at least a month after I was able to work out again and that I would listen to him as far as nutrition went as well. HA! That never happened and for Christmas last year he got me a membership to Farrell’s. I was so excited but I was also like “Oh WOW, Farrell’s, can I do this”. The spring session rolled around and with my determination to show myself and my husband that I could do this and follow Farrell’s plan with the workout and the Nutrition. This plan has been the only thing ever that has worked for me, Farrell’s shows you how to work out hard and keep the nutrition simple with getting the amounts of carbs and proteins you need. With the help of Farrell’s, I lost weight, inches, and body fat and I am still losing!! But I have also gain confidence and a life time change for myself and my family. The spring session of 2012 I was the $1000 winner and started coaching the summer session. I love being able help and show people that with hard work and dedication you can do anything. If I can concur bad eating habits than anyone can!

The reason I started Farrell's: Prior to moving to Cedar Rapids, I always had an active gym membership. Fitness was a major priority for me. When I moved, I took way too much time off and couldn't find a gym. So I started to search for something new. I started with CrossFIT, and immediately knew it wasn't for me. Luckily, I continued searching and found the FXB family! Not only do I get a challenging, fun workout, but am surrounded each day by a great group of hard working, motivated fellow FXBers!
My favorite part of being an instructor: Motivating and encouraging people to dig deeper and push themselves harder! Seeing how far each new set of 10 weekers push themselves, their transformations, and see all they can achieve is great!

The reason I started Farrell's: My friend and employee Abbey Whalen said I want to try Farrell's we had both driven by many times. I called and spoke with Chris. He told me you had a promo going on and then we couldn't pass it up. I then talked my husband Jack into going. It took me 3 weeks of daily picking at him to get him to sign up.
My favorite part of being an instructor: I love to challenge people to change and share what I have gained from Farrell's. Farrell's changed my husband and my life.

The reason I started Farrell's: I have always been active and I have always exercised, but as the years and the responsibilities of life magnified I found it became more difficult to maintain my weight. Although I was not sedentary, as my career and life became more chaotic the more excuses I made; my health and fitness took backseat to my other priorities and I was in a slump, both physically and mentally. Even though I was already working out on my own I was not reaching my goals and I was getting frustrated. I decided to join Farrell’s because I needed something to give me the motivation and discipline that I needed to get back on track.

The reason I started Farrell's: I belonged to other gyms and tried other fitness programs. None of which encompassed nutrition and fitness in one. I never really felt like I belonged. When I started my 10 week program, I expected to go to class each day, get my work done and go home. I never expected to feel "a-part" of something. It really helps to know my fellow classmates. It makes you want to show up each day. I felt more accountable when you work out with the same people everyday. I am glad to be apart of the Farrell's XB family.
My favorite part of being an instructor: I love teaching others to be strong, confident and how to work hard. It is very motivating to see others build their self-esteem.

The reason I started Farrell's: To live the active, healthy, lifestyle I always thought about, but never tried. I missed being around people who had similar goals and would push you chase your best self. I found exactly what I was I looking for at FXB Edgewood!
My favorite part of being an instructor: The camaraderie and support from the people around me and the energy I get (and try to give back) to my classes.
